The Dangers of AI

I don’t care what anyone else says or thinks about Artificial Intelligence, often known as AI. It is destructive and lazy and harms true artists. Artists work VERY hard and then often get replaced because of AI. It replaces the role that artists bring to the community and world around us.
We live in a day and age where we love things at a convenience. We choose the microwave instead of the crockpot. We choose fast food instead of a sit-down restaurant. We still get mad waiting for the very few minutes of the microwave to complete its cycle. We even get impatient with the toaster for taking such a “long time” to pop up again. We strive to have things delivered at a moment’s notice from Amazon. We do not know how to be patient anymore. We do not know what delayed gratification really is. It’s ALL ages, not just the younger generation. I’ve seen it with every single generation. AI kills the ability to have a crockpot kind of experience. When we’re constantly in a hurry, it is often more destructive. Just take a look on the roads and see all the ones who are speeding.
We all know the best things in life comes to when we wait. The crockpot is one example. It is much better than microwave food. You may smell it all day, but it has been in process for the final result. The final result makes it much more enjoyable. AI doesn’t do this at all. We don’t learn or grow the way we should if we continually depend upon AI. The growing process matters the most.
You may be wondering, ‘I thought this was about art so why are you talking about food, lady?’
It’s just an example that I often use because it’s easier to understand the lesson on patience. For artists, it takes a lot of time and work to produce something, especially one that is meaningful. The best pieces of art take a lot of time to create. AI kills it and rather depend on a machine instead of who we are as a person. For this past year or so, I kept thinking how much people who use AI must struggle with their own confidence. AI is a cheat system. It cheats people in to what someone has worked hard on for years. It cuts people in line for their own purposes. It’s selfish. But mainly, I feel for the people who think they need AI. It means that they don’t really have confidence in themselves to produce something themselves. It doesn’t give them the confidence they need to think. AI ruins the ability to make people think and have it think for them.
We are created beings, made in the image of the God, who is the Ultimate Creator. If He creates, then we’re meant to create as well. It doesn’t have to be about creating drawings or paintings, but it can be anything else out in the world. A leader in a company has the creative capability (or should be if they are a leader) to create a successful growing business themselves, not to rely on technology to do the work for them.
AI kills self-esteem. AI kills our own confidence to do things ourselves. It robs others of their own passions too, including art and creativity. AI is a robber that needs to go. If we’re not careful, AI will be covered in every art museum in the next 10 years.
