Woke is Dangerous for Art

By

As you can tell by the title of this post is yes, this is about how being woke is actually destructive to art and creativity. Yes, I understand that the best thing about art is to give someone a voice through creativity, but like everything else in the world today, everything has become politicized instead. It’s no longer about art. It’s about politics today.

All the great and legendary artists of the past would be rolling over in their graves today. Their great pieces, which most likely didn’t get appreciated until they had died, would be dismissed over a banana taped to a blank canvas. Their own life’s passion being dismissed over a less qualified artist only for political purposes. It would be a slap on the face to Picasso. It would be a slap on the face to Van Gogh. The art world has basically thrown these pieces in the trash for a banana. I’m aware that bananas are so much more than just wokeism but it’s still a huge slap against true artists.

What would the future be for art? Will art still be a thing in the future? No, it won’t. For however long wokeism is present, art and creativity has died. Art is no longer art. I truly believe art died many decades ago. It’s no longer what it should be. Woke has taken over the art field. Surprisingly, they removed art from schools even though it’s one of the main things that deals with wokeism. I feel bad for true artists. They don’t deserve this. Art really needs to make a real comeback in 2025. We need to honor the legendary artists of the past better than we have been.
