The Overcomer Life

Is anyone immune from anxiety? Is anyone immune from depression? From mental anguish?

The short answer is no.

We all can have and would often go through mental turmoil. Some more severe than others. As long as we are on this earth, we will ALL have battles of the mind. Our common enemy, Satan, loves to steal, to kill, and to destroy. If we’re destroyed, he loves it! He is constantly on the move to have destruction abound. He loves it the more people are stolen, killed, and destroyed. He is the destoyer and he works overtime. All he can do is torment our mind. If we do not know who we are in Christ and what we have in Christ, then we would be able to fall for anything that Satan does to us.

God had said in the very beginning that it was no good for man to be alone. Knowing what happens soon after, the serpent had deceived Eve and that led to the broken creation. He knew how easily we could be tricked into wrongdoing. Parents know this especially when their children are still young. The younger the children, then the more prone they would be to fall for anything, even any lie from the enemy.

Satan is ALWAYS after our mind and for what we truly believe. That’s all he can do now that Jesus had defeated him and taken back what he had stolen from the beginning. It’s up to us to learn what we have in Christ and use that same authority Jesus.

It is definitely a battle for all of us, but thankfully with Jesus, we are on the winning side. The battle of the mind can be won! Hey, we were given the mind of Christ too! His mind is an overcoming mind and that dwells within us right now. We do not have to lay in defeat. We do not have to let mental anguish reign over us. We can reign instead. As for anxiety, we can “cast it over to the Lord for He cares for us” (1 Peter 5:7).

We will ALL deal with mental warfare on this earth. This is something we ALL have in common with each other. We all know what it is like to have Satan throw a dart at our mind, those constant destructive thoughts to deceive and destroy us from our plan with God. Do not let anyone fool you that only some people battle with mental difficulties. We ALL do. For however long we are on this earth with Satan, we will constantly be in a war against him. We do have the advantage over Satan though. We can reign in victory in Christ and not let our mental health reign us. We are overcomers through Jesus!
